Karas Kraki Ktor is a captivating orange wine from Armenia’s sun-drenched Armavir region, crafted with intention and deep respect for heritage. Made from the native Kangun grape, this wine undergoes fermentation in traditional amphorae and is bottled unfiltered with only minimal sulfites, preserving its raw, expressive character. At 12.6% ABV, it captures the volcanic terroir of its origin while paying homage to Armenia’s ancient winemaking legacy. Its name, meaning "a touch of fire," reflects the warmth and energy imbued in every sip.
On the palate, Karas Kraki Ktor delivers a layered, aromatic journey. It opens with orange blossom and ripe citrus, deepens with hints of bergamot and quince, and finishes on a lingering note of dried fruits and gentle tannin. Lightly cloudy with a golden-straw hue, it shows a refreshing structure balanced by rounded acidity. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 10-12°C, it pairs beautifully with rich poultry dishes, white meats, creamy vegetable stews, and hearty salads. Its aging potential of three to five years allows the wine to further develop in complexity.
Produced by Karas Wines, a family-driven project rooted in sustainability and tradition, this wine reflects the pioneering spirit of the Eurnekian family. With vineyards planted in volcanic soil beneath Mount Ararat, and a mission guided by centuries of Armenian oenological wisdom, Karas bridges the ancient with the modern. Kraki Ktor is not just a wine—it’s an invitation to taste the soul of Armenia in its most natural form.
